You know, I just don't have enough Gale icons.
So Magna Carta: Tears of Blood is coming out in a week or so. I look forward to some hot, charter-writing action. Take that King John! Have a precursor to modern democracy! I guess I'll have to buy it since Hyung Tae Kim's artwork is pretty sweet, disproportionately huge THIGHS and BOOBS aside ("thighs" and "boobs" bolded and capitalized just to see if I could catch anyone's attention as they're scanning their f-list). On a side note: I'm getting some really freaky lesbian vibes from that game.
I suppose Suikoden Tactics (aka Rhapsodia) is also coming out on the same date. I'm not too psyched, sadly. I might be a little more interested if they were releasing it for the PSP, which would have made so much more sense. And even more interested if they had based it around the Suikoden II or III timeframes. *blows raspberries at Suikoden IV* Suikoden V had better be really goddamn awesome or the series will lose me.
I've noticed most of my game purchases are based solely on appreciation for concept artwork, even if I never get around to playing the game itself. *cough*Unlimited Saga*cough*
Which reminds me: Friday was the last of the design department's presentations on the various fields contained within the industry. One of the speakers was an art director(?) working with Microsoft's X-Box division. Now I quietly lust after his job. Or rather, the concept art job I've been wanting for years now.
Upon questioning him about how to "break into" the gaming industry, or at least the design aspect, he said you generally have to start with PC titles and work your way up to consoles, usually with a position in texturing and 3D rendering. I guess that wouldn't be so bad, not if it got my foot in the door. Besides, I could tell all of my friends that I textured that one fire hydrant in "Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's Totally Cool Makeover Adventure." Licensed titles, here I come.
